Biman’s direct flight to Madinah starts today

Biman Bangladesh Airlines is going to operate direct flight on Dhaka-Madinah route from today and from Chattogrm to Madinah from October 31. Using its latest addition, Boeing Dreamliner 787, the authority concerned will operate direct flight on this route. The move was taken by the national flag carrier as part of its route expansion plan.

It was learned from Biman sources that due to shortage of aircraft they were unable to operate flight on this route despite having huge passenger demand. As per the scheduled three flights on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from Dhaka to Madinah while one flight on Thursday will be operated from Chattogram.

Based on the schedule, on three days at local time 1.15 am a flight will depart for Madinah and arrive at KSA local time 5.00 pm. The return flight will leave For Dhaka at 7.15 pm Madinah local time and will arrive here at 4.25am. Chattogram- Madinah flight will also be operated same time on Thursdays. The national flag carrier is offering 15 percent discount on the inaugural flight fare both from Dhaka and Chattogram.

Lowest fare at economy class on Dhaka Madinah route is $605 and from Chattogram to Madinah is $ 622 excluding vat and other surcharges. It is to be noted, a good number of country's expatriates living in Saudi Arabia and a huge number of Bangladeshis visit there to perform Hajj and Omrah. Until now they have to use Jeddah airport which is time consuming and expensive. It is being opined that direct flight to Medinah will save time and offer easier journey.
