A new trust fund titled ‘Bilquis-Mahbub Trust Fund’ has been established at Dhaka University (DU). Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman was present as chief guest on this occasion.
Prof. Dr. Parveen Huque of DU Educational and Counselling Psychology Department handed over a cheque for Tk. 12 lac to DU Treasurer Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed on Tuesday (July 25, 2023) at the VC’s Lounge of the university to set up this trust fund in memory of her parents.
Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof. Dr. AKM Mahbub Hasan, teacher of Educational and Counselling Psychology Department Prof. Dr. Mahjabeen Haque, Chairman of the same department Zinnatul Borak, Registrar Probir Kumar Sarker and Director of Public Relations Office Mahmood Alam were present on this occasion.
Out of the income of this trust fund every year some meritorious and financially challenged students of Educational and Counselling Psychology Department will be given scholarship.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the donor and her family members for setting up this trust fund. He hoped that meritorious as well as financially challenged students of DU Educational and Counselling Psychology Department would be highly benefited and inspired by this Trust Fund.
