A motorcyclist who allegedly hit Assistant Commissioner (land) Kazi Nazib Hasan while he was on duty at Jhikargachha upazila in Jashore was arrested on Wednesday night.
Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge of Jhikargachha Police Station, said that the motorcyclist Shubrata Das Amit, 30, was arrested from Laxmipur village in Jhikorgacha Upazila around 7:30 pm.
Later police raided his house and seized two motorcycles under the same registration number. The associates Abdullah Al Shakil was arrested earlier.
Motorcyclist Shubrata Das Amit hit the AC land when he along with law enforcers was working to stop a gathering at Godkhali Bazar area under Jhikargacha upazila on Sunday afternoon. Two friends were on the motorcycle and they fled immediately. AC (land) is in Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka for good treatment, severe injuries on his leg, head and abdomen.
