A college student named Zidan (18) was killed after losing control of his motorcycle and hitting a tree in Nabinagar of the district. The accident took place on Tuesday night at a place called Karibari on the Nabinagar-Kompaniganj road of the upazila. He is son of Baten Mia in Basharuk Uttarpara of Laur Fatehpur Union. At that time his friend Zahid (18) who was with him was seriously injured.
He was sent to the Upazila Health Complex in critical condition. Both of them are students of Barrister Zakir Ahmed College. Locals said that on Tuesday night, when they came to a place called Karaibari on their way home from Nabinagar with a motorcycle, the motorcycle lost control and crashed into a tree on the side of the road. Nabinagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahabub Alam said that the body of the deceased has been recovered.
Another injured person has been admitted to Upazila Health Complex. The incident is under investigation.
