Bike accident in Chuadanga kills 3

Three people were killed in a motorcycle accident at Zafarpur in Chuadanga. Another person was injured.

The accident took place in front of the Chuadanga District Youth Development Department today at around 1.30 pm. The bodies of the deceased have been kept at the Chuadanga Sadar Hospital Morgue. The deceased are Tunu Hossain Anand (22), son of Sirajul Islam of Farmpara, Chuadanga town area, Mithu Mia (23), son of Kitab Ali of Nurnagar Colonypara, and Mukta Halder (28), son of Manoranjan Halder, resident of Ullapara, Sirajganj district. The injured person is Roni Ahmed (35), son of Ala Uddin Biswas of Baghmara area of Rajshahi district. Mukta Halder and Roni Ahmed both worked as representatives of Everest Pharmaceuticals drug company.

According to the police, in the afternoon Tunu was going towards Sarojganj with Mithu on a motorcycle. While trying to pass by, their motorcycle collided with an easybike. Later, the motorcycle of representatives of the drug company lost control and hit them. They were quickly rescued and taken to Sadar Hospital where the doctors on duty in the emergency department declared Tunu and Mithu dead.

Shapla Khatun, a doctor on duty in the emergency department of Sadar Hospital, said that two people named Tunu and Mithu died long before they were brought to the hospital. The other two injured people were admitted after first aid. Among them, Mukta Haldar's condition is critical. He was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He died while preparing to take it there.

Chuadanga Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahabbur Rahman said that the bodies of the deceased have been kept at the Sadar Hospital morgue. Legal matters are pending in that incident.
