The activation campaign of the Bangabandhu Innovation Grant (BIG) 2023 was organized by the Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) Project of the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division on Sunday at the Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Software Technology Park, Chattogram.
The Project Director of iDEA and Joint Secretary Md. Altaf Hossain, was present as the chief guest in this program organized in collaboration with Startup Chattogram. He said that the startup culture is developing very fast in Chattogram city and new startup companies are constantly providing new solutions by undertaking different promising initiatives. He also commented that the youth and young people have to play a leading and strong role for the development of Chattogram. Besides, he highlighted the importance of youth to build knowledge based economy and smart Bangladesh and urged them to come forward. Finally, he made a special request to the entrepreneurs to apply on the website (www.big.gov.bd) of “BIG 2023” by April 22, 2023.
Siddhartho Goshwami, senior consultant for the iDEA project and chief coordinator for BIG 2023, presented the details of BIG 2023 in the campaign.
iDEA Project Consultant and BIG 2023 Technology Associate Coordinator Mr. Abul Kalam Ahsanul Azad, the founder of Startup Chattogram Mr. Arafatul Islam Akib and many others were also present at the programme.
This activation campaign is organized with the different startup communities, school, college, and university clubs in Chattogram. About hundred entrepreneurs participated in this campaign organized under the theme "DARE TO STAND BIG". It is to be noted that as a reward for BIG 2023, a grant of BDT 1 crore will be awarded to the best startup. The top 50 startups in the rest of the selected list will be awarded a grant of BDT 10 lakh each.
