BIFPCL observes Nat’l Mourning Day

Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company Limited (BIFPCL) on Saturday observed the national mourning day, the 45th anniversary of martyrdom of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

BIFPCL paid homage to the Father of the Nation by hoisting the national flag at half-mast at the MSTPP project office in Bagerhat’s Rampal in the morning. 

After that, BIFPCL paid deepest respect to the greatest leader by placing floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at the plant site. After placing the wreaths jointly, employees stood there in solemn silence showing utmost respect to the great leader.

A prayer session was held praying eternal peace of the departed souls of the victim’s of August 15, 1975 tragedy as well as the martyrs during the war of independence of the country. 

Later 100 plants of different species were planted at the project area to mark the day and BIFPCL organized a virtual discussion where project officials in both Dhaka and project site office joined.

The speakers at the discussion urged to uphold the philosophy of the Father of the Nation to become a patriotic citizen and ensure development of the country.

Moderated by DGM (HR-PR) Anwarul Azim, the virtual meeting was addressed by BIFPCL Mananging Director Naresh Anand as the chief guest and chief human resource officer Kazi Nazrul Islam as the key speaker.
