Bangladesh Honda Private Limited (BHL) has expanded its international business by beginning exports of the Honda NX200 motorcycle to Mexico, marking another milestone in Bangladesh’s growing motorcycle manufacturing sector.

The export initiative follows BHL’s successful shipment of Honda motorcycles to Guatemala and reflects the company’s efforts to establish Bangladesh as a competitive production and export base. The Honda NX200, produced in Bangladesh, will now reach the Mexican market while meeting Honda’s global quality and safety standards.

The export ceremony was attended by Dr. Md. Sakirul Islam Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister with Secretary status, as the chief guest. Miss Ummay Hafsa Nadia, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Gazaria Upazila, attended as the honourable guest.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Khan said the government remains committed to developing a business-friendly environment to support manufacturing, exports and investment. He described the Mexico export as an important achievement for Bangladesh’s export diversification and employment generation, while also enhancing the country’s recognition in global markets.

BHL Managing Director and CEO Susumu Morisawa said the expansion demonstrates improvements in the company’s production capabilities, quality assurance and workforce commitment. He said BHL would continue strengthening local procurement, improving manufacturing competitiveness and expanding its international business.

Chief Marketing Officer Shah Muhammad Ashequr Rahman said the Mexico export highlights Bangladesh’s growing manufacturing capabilities and Honda’s global quality standards. He added that the initiative would contribute to localization, technological development, industrial growth, employment generation and export diversification.

The latest shipment also underscores BHL’s broader strategy of utilizing Bangladesh’s manufacturing capacity to serve international markets. With increased local sourcing and production capabilities, the company aims to strengthen the domestic automotive supply chain while creating new opportunities for exports.

The export of the NX200 to Mexico is therefore seen as a significant step in positioning Bangladesh as an emerging hub for high-quality motorcycle manufacturing and international trade.
