RAB-14, CPC-3, Bhairab Camp have arrested Md. Oman Mia (30) in connection with the shocking incident of hacking to death Kamal Mia (45) a night watchman of an under construction mosque in Bhairab, Kishoreganj.
An operational team of RAB-14, CPC-3, Bhairab Camp conducted a special operation in Akhaura Thana area of Brahmanbaria district in the early hours of Sunday and arrested him. The arrested killer is Md. Oman Mia, son of Ohid Mia of Bhairabpur Uttarpara.
The deceased was identified as Kamal Mia, son of late Lal Mia of Ghorakanda area in Bhairab. He was the night watchman of a mosque under construction in Ghorakanda area.
Confirming the arrest of the main accused Oman Mia, RAB-14, CPC-3, Bhairab Camp Company Commander Additional Police Super Rafiuddin Mohammad Jobayer said that Kamal Mia and Zakir Mia had a long-running dispute over various issues with drug dealer Oman and his associates.
As a result of this previous animosity, at 3 am on February 2, Kamal Mia and Zakir Mia were attacked by an illegal mob led by Oman with Ram Da, Ballam, Chapati etc. The assailants inflicted serious bloody injuries on their heads and various parts of their bodies. When Kamal Mia and Zakir Mia were seriously injured, they were rescued in critical condition and taken to Bhairab Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty referred them both to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Kamal Mia died at 12:30 pm on February 2 while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
In this incident case against Oman Mia, Muktadir, Farhad Mia, Sajan Mia, Ahsan Ullah and a total of 23 people and anonymous 4/5 more case against Bhairab Police Station has been filed.
Muktadir, Farhad Mia, Sajan Mia and Ahsan Ullah were arrested on February 2 at 9:30 pm on the day of the incident by an expedition team of RAB-14, CPC-3, Bhairab Camp for the arrest of the accused in the case.
Among them are Muktadir son of Ohid Miah of Bhairabpur Uttarpara, Farhad Miah son of Ali through Kamalpur Panchabati, Sajan Miah son of Ratan of the same area and Ahsan Ullah son of late Farid Miah of the same area.
Besides, the main accused said.
The RAB launched a relentless operation to capture Oman Mia. Following this, an operational team of RAB-14, CPC-3, Bhairab Camp conducted a special operation in Akhaura Thana area of Brahmanbaria district on Sunday (February 27) and arrested him.
The arrested main accused Oman Mia is handed over to Bhairab Police Station, said RAB-14, CPC-3, Bhairab Camp Company Commander Additional Superintendent of Police Rafiuddin Mohammad Jobayer.
