BGMEA President has sought cooperation from Ambassador-Designate of Bangladesh to Lebanon, AVM Javed Tanveer Khan, in exploring ways of increasing garment exports to Lebanon.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan made the call during a view exchangee meeting with the envoy as he paid a courtesy call Faruque Hasan at BGMEA Complex in Uttara, Dhaka on Monday.
BGMEA Vice President Miran Ali was also present on the occasion.
During the meeting they discussed various issues, particularly possible avenues of trade with Lebanon. BGMEA President Faruque Hassan briefed the envoy about the latest developments of the RMG industry of Bangladesh and its vast transformation in terms of workplace safety and workers’ wellbeing.
He also highlighted the industry’s emphasis on developing capabilities in manufacturing high-value garments and exporting them to both traditional and new markets.
