BGB works for improving living standard of border people

National Parliament Whip Iqbalur Rahim MP said that BGB is not only controlling drugs in the border area but also working to improve the living standards of the people in the region. Children of wealthy families now a day are addicted to harmful drugs such as Yaba and heroin. 

The youth is destroying the society and destroying the happiness and peace of the society. Meritorious students are dropping out. Many are becoming physically disabled. In order to control the spread of omnivorous drugs, a social movement must be formed. It must be resisted with a firm hand. He further said that due to the spread of drug addiction, the youth are getting weaker and weaker and are losing their ability to work. That is why Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has declared zero tolerance against drugs. And everyone must work together to prevent this drug. The whip made the remarks while addressing a function to destroy illegal drugs worth Tk 3,29,64,006 seized in an anti-drug operation under Dinajpur sector on Thursday. Special guest BGB Rangpur Regional Commander Brigadier General ABM Nowroz Ehsan said that despite the fact that various organizations in the country have put up so much resistance, research should be done on why drugs are not being stopped. 

It is important to keep an eye on everything from the family so that no one can use it. Besides, drug dealers and users should be identified by list. And to do all this, public awareness is needed. Dinajpur Sector Commander Colonel Golam Mohiuddin Khandaker presided over the special guests. Sachin Chakma, Judicial Magistrate Munirul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Customs Excise and VAT Dinajpur Saidul Alam, District Narcotics Control IP Director Shah Newaz and others. Sadar Upazila Chairman Emdad Sarkar and Upazila Executive Officer Mortuza Al Mueed were present on the occasion. The event was managed by 29 BGB Commander Lieutenant Colonel Rezaul Karim. 

Whip Iqbalur Rahim MP inaugurated the destruction of illegal drugs seized by 42 battalions and 29 battalions in anti-smuggling operations in the border areas from 2019 to April 2022. Among the drugs destroyed were Indian phencidyl, Bengali liquor, narcotic injections, narcotic tablets, sexual stimulant syrup, cannabis, Yaba and heroin.
