Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members seized a truck full of Indian medicine and cosmetics worth of Tk 2.5 crore from Talshari area of Benapole on Friday night.
Lt. Colonel Md. Selim Reza, Commanding Officer of BGB 49 Battalion said a team of BGB men based on a secret information, seized a covered van from Talsari area while the truck was going to Dhaka. The consignment was being smuggled into Bangladesh from India, he said.
The seized cosmetics, medicine and the covered van are kept at the Benapole divisional customs warehouse. A case was filed with Benapole Port Police Station in this connection.
