Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized nine trucks of Indian betel leaf from the Notunhaat area on the Jashore-Benapole Road on Wednesday night.
BGB conducted a drive in the area after being tipped-off that a huge quantity of smuggled Indian betel leaf was being taken to Dhaka.
Betel leaf worth Tk3.42 crore and the trucks were seized, said Jashore BGB 49 Battalion commander Lt Col Md Selim Reza. He said a case was filed in this regard.
