Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized five kilograms of heroin from Sonamasjid frontier in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Wednesday night.
A special patrol team of BGB-59 Battalion led by its Commanding Officer (CO) Lieutenant Colonel Golam Kibria conducted a raid in Tahakhana area about 150 yards inside of Bangladesh territory at around 8.45 pm and chased two motorcyclists, prompting them flee away leaving a motorcycle and a bag, BGB sources said.
After searching the bag, BGB found the heroin, the sources added.
