BGB seizes 22.5 kilo silver jewellery

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Friday midnight seized 22.5 kilograms of silver jewelry during a raid in Damurhuda upazila. Led by Commander of BGB Chuadanga-6 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Khalekuzzaman, a team of BGB members raided several areas and seized these jewelry. 

The estimated markets price of these silver jewelry is more than Tk 2.9 million. Lt Colonel Mohammad Khalekuzzaman confirming the seize said on Saturday that 3 people from 93rd main pillar of Munsipur border were trying to enter at Bangladesh via Dharmara River.  During that, BGB members tried to capture them. While fleeing, they dropped three plastic bags. Later, a team of BGB members seized 22.5 kilograms of silver jewelry.

Process of handing over the jewelry to Damurhuda Police Station is ongoing, BGB officials stated.
