Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a youth with one kg of crystal meth (ice) worth Tk 5 crore in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Tuesday.
The detainee was identified as Md Ridwan, 19, son of Saleh Ahmed, resident of Morichya Bottatoli area in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
Commander of BGB 30, Lieutenant Colonel Syed Wahiduzzaman Tanjid, said the drive was conducted on Tuesday.
He said a patrol ream of joint check post in Morichya area intercepted a Battery-run auto rickshaw on suspicion. They searched the driver of Battery-run auto rickshaw, Md Ridwan, at that time and recovered one kg of crystal meth (ice) that was hidden in Md Ridwan’s body in a special way. The price of the recovered crystal meth (ice) is Tk 5 crore.
Lieutenant Colonel Syed Wahiduzzaman said a drug case was filed against Md Ridwan and he was transferred to Ramu police station.
