In a tribute to national martyr Elahi Manzoor Chowdhury, the Border Guard Public School in Cox’s Bazar has been renamed Shaheed Elahi Manzoor Chowdhury Public School, Cox’s Bazar. The renaming ceremony was held on Wednesday, organised by the 34 BGB Battalion.
The initiative aims to preserve the memory of Elahi Manzoor Chowdhury’s remarkable sacrifice and patriotism.
Brigadier General Mohammad Aksar Khan, Commander of the Cox’s Bazar Region, attended as chief guest, with Colonel Md. Mahiuddin Ahmed (Commander, BGB Ramu Sector), Lt. Colonel S.M. Khairul Alam (Commander, 34 BGB), and Cox’s Bazar Press Club President Mahbubur Rahman among the special guests.
Also in attendance were officials from the Education Engineering Department, local dignitaries, media representatives, teachers, students, and guardians.
In his speech, the Region Commander noted that the BGB-run school has earned a reputation as a leading institution in the area, excelling not only in academics but also in sports, cultural activities, and creative competitions.
