Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) returned two Indian indivisuals to Indian authorities after they were illegally pushed into Bangladesh by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) along the Thakurgaon-Chapsara border.

On June 14 around 1:30 AM, 23 individuals (including 5 men, 12 women, and 6 children) entered Bangladesh through border pillar 347/1-S. BGB’s 42 Battalion detained them during a patrol. After verification, 21 were identified as Bangladeshi and handed over to their families via Haripur Police.

The remaining two — Fazer Mondal (21) and his wife Taslima Mondal (19), from Hariharpur village, Bagda, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal — were confirmed as Indian citizens.

A flag meeting was held with BSF's 87 Battalion on June 16, and the couple was officially handed over at 8:15 PM. BGB reiterated its ongoing efforts to prevent illegal border crossings and human trafficking, urging public cooperation.
