A discussion meeting entitled 'Protected Frontier and Drug Free Thakurgaon' aiming at increasing efficiency and professionalism of BGB members of Thakugaon was held at Subedar Kajim Uddin auditorium on Sunday noon. The meeting was organised by BGB-50 Battalion, Thakurgaon.
Presided over by Lieutenant Colonel SNM Samiunnabi Chowdhury, Commander of BGB-50 Battlion, Thakurgaon, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Colonel Shamsul Arefin, Sector Commander, Thakurgaon Sadar BGB, Hasanuzzaman, District Judge, Thakurgaon, Dr. AKM Kamruzzaman Selim, Deputy Commissioner, Thakurgaon, Lieutenant Colonel Shah Alam Siddiqui, Commander BGB-56 Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Khondker Anisur Rahman, Commander, BGB-18 Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Fazal E Elahi, Commander of MPH of BGB Hospital, Mushfiqur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police, Rabiul Islam, Executive Engineer of Water Development Board, Tanvirul Islam, Inspector of Police and Shafiqul Islam, Inspector of the Department of Drugs Control.
Speakers at the meeting discussed elaborately about taking measures to protect the border. They also discussed on procedure and measure of identifying drugs, process of searching, process and errors of depositions and the zero tolerance stance of the government about drug and the related issues.
