The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in Moheshpur frontier of Jhenidah have detained 16 Bangladeshi nationalas when they were trying to enter in to Indian terrritory withoput any valid documents. The 16 were detained on Monday night within 100 yards of the zero lines of the border at Hathatpara of Palinapur village.
The detainees were Jakir Hossain Khan, 47, son of Phul Mia Khan, Parvin, 6, daughter of Late Sohag Hossain, Nazma Begum, 30, wife of jakir Hossain Khan of village Paschim Khontakata of Sarankhola of Bagerhat, Hasan Farazi, 38, son of Tanjil Farazi, his wife Tania Akter, 20, of village Badura of Morelganj in Bagerhat, Mion Hawlader, 30, son of late Abul Hossain Hawlader, his wife Salma Khatun, 28, of Gobardia village in Bagerhat Sadar upazila.
Among the arrestees there were Shah Alam Hawlader, 45, son of Majid Hawlader, village Paschim Rajapur in Sarankhola, Maruf Hawlader, 39, and Munna Hawlader, 14, sons of Barek Hawlader, Rafiqul Islam Farazi, 38, son of Afzal Farazi, of Rajoir in Sarankhola, Rubel Hossain, 19, son of Manik Akan, Manjarul Islam, 21, son of Jahangir Matbar. Asad, 18, son of Ali Hossain of Junia in Bhandaria upazila of Pirojpur and Rasel Khan, 18, son of late Motaleb Khan of village Hogalpati Nishanbaria in Morelganj of Bagerhat.
BGB assiuiatanit director of 58 Battalion Nazrul Islm Khan said they detained the Bangladeshi nationals during their attempt to enter in to neighboring India when they failed to produce any valid papers favouring themselves.
The detained were handed over to Moheshpur police station after filing a case under Passport Act of 1973 on July 14, BGB man said.
