BGB bans cultivation at zero point in Benapole border

BGB authority strictly banned cultivation of crops above 3 feet within 150 yards from the border zero point in a view exchange meeting with the local border on Monday noon. 

BGB also threatens the people not to cross the border without any valid documents on the illegal way to prevent arms, drugs and human trafficking in the Putkhali Border. 

Khulna BGB Sector Commander Col Md Arshaduzzaman Khan was the chief guest at the meeting held at Putkhali BGB Camp premises under Benapole port police station. 

BGB commanding officer Lt Col Imran Ullah presided over the meeting while BGB deputy commander Major Syed Sohail Ahmed, sarsha upazila nirbahi officer Pulak Kumar Mondal, ASP Jewel Imran and Benapole Press Club president Mohsin Milon spoke at the meeting.

A 5-minute silence was observed in memory of Habilder Akmal Hossain, who was killed by smuggling bombs at the Panchvulot border. 

Everyone is advised to be vigilant so that the same incident does not happen in future. 

The speakers urged all to unite to prevent drug, arms and humane trafficking smuggling. 

During the last 6 months, BGB arrested 1 thousand 488 smugglers along with gold, phensidyl, foreign liquor, heroin and Yaba tablets from the Putkhali border.
