BGB arrests 2 smugglers with gold bars

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members arrested two Brothers along with 10 pieces of gold bars weighing 1 kg from Bengda Bazar during smuggling into India on Thursday noon.

The arrested accused brothers were Milan Hossain (28) and Hiron Hossain (25) sons of Shafiqul Islam at Munsipur village in Dhamurda police station of Chuadanga district.

They were  being interrogation  at the Benapole BGB camp.

According to BGB, after receiving a secret information that huge amount of gold bars are being smuggled to India . A patrol team of BGB arrested the 2 brothers in front of the customs house.

Later, their bodies were searched and 10 gold bars were seized. According to BGB, the value of the seized gold is Tk 1 crore.

49 BGB Battalion commanding officer Lt. Colonel Saheed Minhaj Siddiqui said, BGB members arrested two brothers along with 10 gold bars weighing 1 kg in front of Benapole customs house during smuggling to India.

A case has been registered in this connection at Jhikargacha police station.
