Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is planning to get a space for the national team’s camp and to play FIFA international friendly match during a tight schedule of domestic and international competition.

Bashundhara Kings scheduled to play their AFC Cup Group stage matches to be held from May 18 to 24 when Bangladesh national team will play FIFA friendly matches and Asian Cup qualifying matches by May 30 to June 14. BFF has been planning to comply with the schedules smoothly, as it’s general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag detailed with the media on Tuesday at the BFF house.

Shohag said, “When the international and the domestic schedule for both the clubs and the national teams draw closer, it comes very tough to comply with.”

“We are trying heart and soul to manage all smoothly, as we will play our FIFA friendly and also a preparation match for the Asian Cup qualifiers match on June 2.”

“You know Bashundhara Kings will play in the AFC Cup competition to be held from May 18 in Kolkata, India.

But we have plan to start our national team’s camp from May 15 for the Asian Cup qualifiers.”

“Some of the national players, who are playing for Bashundhara Kings, after their returning home from Kolkata will join the camp and we will play the FIFA friendly (June 2).”

Shohag, however, also informed that they have been maintaining cooperation with some of the countries to play FIFA friendly match but yet to confirm any of them, as all the teams are in tight schedule.

“We have already talked to the Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Afghanistan and Nepal to play the FIFA friendly. But Laos and Cambodia have already replied that they are busy, now we are focusing on Indonesia, Nepal and Afghanistan and hope will have positive reply from any of them.”

“Hopefully Indonesia will confirm us tomorrow (today) about their availability, but we also maintaining contact with Nepal and Afghanistan.

Afghanistan want to come here to play a match and to run their camp for four to five days here before to go Kolkata to play their Asian Cup qualifying matches,” said Shohag.

Shohag also informed that they are yet to decide the national team’s training venue when they will make it at the Army Stadium or at the Bashundhara Arena.

“We will confirm national team’s practice venue very soon after a meeting but initially, our president planned to make it at the Army Stadium or Bashundhara Kings Arena.,” Shohag replied to a query.
