BFF to organise Women Pioneer League

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) will organise Women Pioneer Football League to develop women’s football across the country. 

BFF president Kazi Mohammed Salahuddin proposed this to the Dhaka Pioneer League Committee at the meeting on Saturday. 

The Pioneer League Committee has taken some major decisions to make the Pioneer League more competitive. The medical test and the ages will be completed in January. The league is expected to be kick off in the third week of March.

The matches will be held in five grounds in the capital - Uttara N-14 sector ground, Outer Stadium Rajuk, DhupkholaGroumd, BG Press Ground, Tejgaon and Golapbagh Ground. 

KaziSalahuddin said, “There are only 60 women footballers in the elite club at present. This will not fulfil the demand. We need more players. We have to develop women football, so, I proposed to organize the Pioneer Football League to the committee.” 

“The players, who will prove their skills in the league for any club, she would be warded with Taka 50 thousands and will have opportunity to get admission in the BFF academy. The clubs, who will participate in the Women’s Pioneer League will get benefit from next year,” the BFF president added.  

Executive member and the chairperson of Women Football CommitteMahfuza Akhter Kiron was present at the meeting. The chairperson appreciated the BFF’s initiatives and thinks that it is very positive to arrange Women Pioneer Football League to encourage women football across the country. 

She said, “If the Women’s Pioneer Football League will be organsied, country’s football will be more attractive. Positively we will watch the matches of the league and will choose the talented players to bring them in the BFF academy considering their merits.”
