The Bangladesh National Football Team started their preparation camp as the team gathered at the Amari Hotel in Gulshan, Dhaka, on Monday.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) announced a 30-member preliminary squad as forward Sheikh Morsalin included the national side for the second round of Group I of the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying match against Australia at the AMI Park Stadium, Melbourne, on November 16. Booters will take on Lebanon at the Kings Arena Stadium on November 21.

Bashundhara Kings forward Morsalin was dropped from the national team along with four other players ahead of the pre-qualifiers against the Maldives following his suspension from the club in an alcohol-related incident on the team's way back home from the Maldives after an AFC Cup match.

Central midfielder Chandon Roy has been picked for the first time in the national squad. His brilliant performance for Sheikh Russel in the Independence Cup, even though his side were eliminated from the group stage,

Chandan meets every criterion, such as controlling the match, match reading, and decision-making. I think the national team will get good service from him.

Forward Rahim Uddin of Abahani included a 30-member squad. Although Dipok Roy, Arman Foysal, and Mehedi Hasan Srabon are on the team, Riadul Hasan came back after a long period.

Team Manager Amer Khan said, ‘Hotel Amari will be the residential camp for the booters. However, they cannot use Bashundhara Kings Arena Stadium for practice because it would be used for an AFC Cup match. Practice for the national football team may be allocated to the Police Ground of Uttara.’

Practice started on Monday and will continue on November 10. The team will leave for Australia that night.

Seven members will be eliminated from the squad before departure for Australia. A 23-member team will be finalized within four days.
