BFF Academy to auction its players

A new era is going to open in the Bangladesh football when the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) decided to arrange an open auction to sell booters of their academy. 

It is the first time in the country’s football history that booters are going to be be sold and purchased through auctions, will take place at the Hotel Intercontinental in the City.   

BFF yet to chalk out the criteria, in which way players’ prices will be fixed on, what would be the base price of a player and what will be the ratio of the amount, would be distributed between the player and the BFF, are also yet to be finalized. 

The BFF, though took the decision in their Development Committee meeting on Friday, will complete all the formalities of the auctions soon and will announce the time and date.

The BFF, who set up the academy before the COVID-19 at Komolapur Stadium, also sold one of their forwards in the last season to Mohammedan Sporting Club for Taka 10 lacs.

However, three clubs are interested to buy players from the academy, and BFF faces some difficulties to sell the players and decided to distribute the players through auction, the club, who will call the highest price, will get the players.  After the meeting, chairman of the BFF Development Committee, Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan Manik detailed all to the reporters, when he said, “Three clubs show their keen interest to buy players from us, we face problem, to whom we will sell the players and decided to sell players through auction. Through the auction, who will offer the best price will have their expected player.” 

In all over the world clubs produce players in their respective academy and then sell and by players, but the BFF is going to start the trend in Bangladesh.
