BEZA inks land allotment deal with Sim Fabrics for Jamalpur EZ

Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) signed an agreement with  Sim Fabrics Ltd. for allotment of 5 acres of land in Jamalpur Economic Zone.

The agreement signing ceremony was held on Wednesday at the BEZA office, Agargaon in the capital.

Executive Member (Investment Development) Md. Mojibur Rahman and Md. Mozaffar Hossain, Managing Director of Sim Fabrics Ltd. signed the agreement on behalf of the respective organisations.  

The event, presided over by BEZA’s Executive Chairman Dr. Md. Sarwar Bari, was also attended by high officials of BEZA and Sim Fabrics .

According to company sources, Sim Fabrics Ltd. will invest about 17 million US dollars on 5 acres of land. It is initially estimated that around 250 people will be employed in the overall activity. BEZA Executive Chairman said that BEZA has been able to create a healthy investment-friendly environment in Bangladesh.

He mentioned that all facilities including utilities are being provided to the investors to build a self-sufficient economic zone in Jamalpur and  the people of the remote areas will enjoy the benefits of this development and industrialisation.

Md. Mozaffar Hossain, Managing Director of the organisation, said that he is very proud to be a part of BEZA’s planned industrialisation. 

He also said that if all facilities related to services are confirmed, his company is interested in starting the construction work quickly.

Note that Jamalpur Economic Zone is the first Government Economic Zone under implementation in Mymensingh Division. The zone will be established on a total land area of 436 acres. The successful implementation of the zone will directly create employment opportunities for around 32000 people.
