Betel leaf shed set on fire

Miscreants in Bagmara set ablaze a betel leaf baroj (shed) on Thursday night resulting a huge loss of the baroj owner Yead Ali. 

Affected Yead Ali has lodged a complaint with Bagmara police station in this connection. 

According to the complaint, as a sequel of previous enmity, Shahjamal, Fahim Uddin and some other unidentified people of Mohammadpur village under Basupara union of the upazila set ablaze the betel-leaf baroj with some fire-fuel on Thursday night.  As a result, the betel-leaf plants with the accessories of the baroj burnt down completely. Yead Ali claimed, he incurred at least Taka three lakh loss from the burning of the baroj.  

Yead Ali informed while the betel leaf baroj was buring at the midnight, some villagers watched that and informed him. They rushed to the spot and with a concerted effort for three-hour, the put off the fire. But, by this time, all his betel leaf plants and the baroj burnt down. 

Yead Ali said, he is a helpless person and his only means of livelihood is the income from the betel leaf baroj. He further said, as a sequel of family feud, neighbours Shah Jamal, Fahim Uddin and some other people were trying to make him a pauper. He said, he has no idea why did those people cause such a huge huge loss for him. He demanded proper punishment of the accused. 

Mostaque Ahmmed, Officer-in-charge of Bagmara police station informed, the owner of the betel leaf baroj Yead Ali has filed a written complaint accusing some people. Accordingly, Sanjib Biswas, SI of the police station has visited the spot and legal action will be taken against the accused after investigation.
