Bera UZ Chairman dies of Covid-19

Chairman of Bera Upazila Parishad and General Secretary of Upazila Awami League freedom fighter Md. Abdul Quader died of Covid-19. He was 72. 

According to family and party sources, he was taken to a local hospital in Pabna with corona symptoms a week ago and after being diagnosed with corona, he was admitted to Square Hospital in Dhaka for advanced treatment. 

He died at 6:00 pm on Thursday while undergoing treatment. Abdul Quader's son, Abedin Quader, said he had been suffering from mild cold, cough and fever for several days. He died on Thursday evening after being on ventilator support for the past few days.

Quader was elected as the chairman of Bera Upazila Parishad twice in a row after getting huge number of votes  and was performing his duties properly. As a simple, sociable and compassionate person, he was the favorite leader and guardian of the people of Bera Upazila. 

Not only in Bera upazila, but also in other upazilas of the district, he was a favorite face of Awami League leaders, workers and common people. His death cast a shadow of deep mourning among the party leaders and activists of the districts and upazilas and the freedom fighters. 

Alhaj Adv, Member of Parliament for Pabna-1 constituency, District MPs including Shamsul Haque Tuku, district upazila chairmen, party leaders of district upazila Awami League and Bera municipal mayor Alhaj Abdul Baten, leaders and workers of Bera upazila Awami League, municipal Awami League and union Awami League including chairman of Bera upazila union, expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
