National University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mashiur Rahman said Bengalis are instilled with the spirit of patriotism.
He said, “After the great success of the Bengali language movement, the victory in the Great War of Liberation, the Bengalis have done many things with their own strength and spirit.
They achieved success in bringing peace in hill tracts by winning ‘The Chittagong Hill Tracts Peace Accord’, sea boarder dispute with Myanmar and India, settlement of enclave problems etc. They also alleviated poverty, provided shelter to millions of Rohingya refugees and created a social safety net.”
“In the future, we are moving forward to the path of human liberation, humane and self-esteemed Bangladesh.
We have no competition with any capitalist state. This will be the main stream infused with the ideals of Bangabandhu and the liberation war,” he added.
Dr Mashiur Rahman was addressing the discussion meeting titled 'Interference of Foreigners on Independent Sovereign States' jointly organised by Education Research and Development Forum of Bangladesh (ERDFB) and the weekly magazine ‘Saptahik Uddokta’ at the National Press Club on Friday.
