Bangladeshi romantic comedy ‘Bengali Beauty’ becomes the first Bangla language film to be screened in China. The film completed its first week of screening, renamed ‘Jinse de Manjala’ in China, starting from May 3.
According to GM Shahidul Alam, who played the Director General of Bangladesh Betar in the film, “Reflecting the appreciation of ‘Bengali Beauty’ by Chinese audiences in the first week of its showing, the movie's screening frequency has been increased from the second week beginning on May 10.”
‘Bengali Beauty’ received the largest international theatrical release of any Bengali film in history. Previously it was released in the United States as well as in the United Kingdom. The film directed by Rahsaan Noor stars Rahsaan Noor and Mumtaheena Toya in the lead roles. It was released in Bangladesh on October 12, 2018.
