New Zealand Cricket has included Ian Bell, James Foster, Saqlain Mushtaq, and Stephen Fleming in their coaching plans. Ian Bell will serve as New Zealand’s assistant coach for their upcoming four Twenty20 matches in England. Afterward, he will switch roles to become the batting coach for the four-game one-day series against England in the following month. Additionally, he is set to fulfill the role of batting coach for three ODIs in Bangladesh.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Bell expressed his eagerness to work with young players on the spinning wickets during the Bangladesh series ahead of the World Cup in India. He highlighted the emergence of several young cricketers and their impressive performances, including New Zealand players who excelled in The Hundred tournament on spinning pitches. Bell emphasized his anticipation for the series in Bangladesh, as it will provide him with a closer insight into the abilities of various New Zealand players.
Bell said in the press conference on Thursday that he is waiting to work with young players on the spinning wicket in the Bangladesh series before the World Cup in India.
“Now many young cricketers are coming up. Look at The Hundred, New Zealand players are also scoring centuries on spinning wickets there. There are many world-class players in the team. I am looking forward to the series in Bangladesh. Because at that time I will get a closer idea about several New Zealand players,” Bell said.
Bell stated, “As a coach, I know what the seniors will do. But I want to show the young players what to do in such conditions. I look forward to this kind of challenge. I am especially excited about working with the youth.”
New Zealand Cricket revealed that head coach Gary Stead will be given a rest after his responsibilities during the India World Cup and won't be part of the team for their two Tests in Bangladesh in December. Luke Ronchi and Saqlain Mushtaq will be accompanying the team during the Bangladesh Test series scheduled from November 28 to December 10.
