BEA demands exemplary punishment for culprits involved in anarchy

Bangladesh Economic Association (BEA) in a statement on Friday demanded to the government to bring the culprits, who were involved in anarchy and destroyed valuable establishments of the country, under justice through proper investigation. 

“The demands of the quota reformers have been full filed. Now everyone should try to normalize the situation in the educational institutes”, said the statement.

It mentioned that huge loss of lives and properties occurred during the movement from 17 to 22 July. The miscreants torched police boxes at various places in the country including Metro Rail, BTV Bhaban, Directorate of Health, Setu Bhaban, Expanded Immunization Program Office, Toll Plaza, Disaster Management Office, Mohakhali Data Centre, Mohakhali Corona Hospital, Nutrition Institute, Health Directorate, Electricity Office, BRTA Bhaban looted. 

Besides, many banks, shops, offices, government and private establishments were vandalized. The miscreants stormed the prison in Narsingdi, looting, setting fire and evicting all the inmates. 

The process of identifying those who organized these vandalism and bringing them under the law has started. We hope the real culprits will be identified and be brought to justice.
