Be vigilant against propaganda: FM to BD missions

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen on Wednesday asked the Bangladesh missions abroad to be vigilant to prevent propaganda against the country.

He was speaking at a discussion on the ‘Bangabandhu Lecture’ series titled 'Bangabandhu's Role in the Language Movement' as part of the birth centenary celebration of the Father of the Nation organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.

He called upon the Bangladeshi diplomats to present correct information about the country so that misconceptions cannot be planted in the minds of the people.

He said Bangabandhu has dreamed of establishing a developed, prosperous 'Golden Bengal' by making Bangladesh independent.

“Bangabandhu has planted his dream in the hearts of the people. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the worthy daughter of Bangabandhu, we will be able to establish the 'Golden Bengal' of Bangabandhu's dream by 2041.”

 He said Bangabandhu's role in both the language movement and the achievement of independence was unforgettable.

 The foreign minister said Bangabandhu has always carried out movements which are legal and worked with all. As a result, his movements have been intensified. He spent most of his life in prison for the realisation of people's rights. Bangabandhu has lived forever by working for the realisation of the rights of the masses.

 Education minister Dr Dipu Moni, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen and trustee of the Liberation War Museum Mofidul Haque also spoke at the programme.
