Foreign investment always plays a pivotal role in boosting a country’s economy. In our country’s already prevailing economy, encouraging more FDI into the country will lead to transferring technology and creating more employment openings.

Recently Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina invited the investors of the United Kingdom (UK) to be part of the developmental journey of Bangladesh by investing in a host of lucrative sectors. Sheikh Hasina also assured that the government agencies, including the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission and the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, will do their best to ensure a congenial business environment for UK investors.

Bangladesh has to be quick in gripping the prospect of improving trade

policies and  making

them more  FDI-friendly

We would suggest our government to take some positive steps regrading encouraging more foreign companies to invest more in Bangladesh. More relaxations of tax restrictions are needed to attract more FDIs. The government needs to provide an open, translucent, and reliable circumstances for all kinds of firms, whether foreign or domestic. This includes, ease of doing business, relatively flexible labour markets, and protection of property rights. We can also launch a promotional campaign to attract foreign entrepreneurs to invest here.

Bangladesh has to be quick in gripping the prospect of improving trade policies and making them more FDI-friendly. All in all, trade policies are needed to be investment-friendly and the overall investment environment should also be enhanced to attract more foreign investments.

Foreign Investors sometimes have to confront many struggles while acquiring lands and this happens due to bureaucratic hurdles. These areas should also be addressed if we want to implement the law in a proper manner. While safeguarding all these variables for the foreign investors, the government should also think of the national interests as well.
