Bangladesh women’s cricket team overtook their Sri Lankan counterparts to become the eighth ranked team in women’s one-day international rankings after ICC announced its annual rankings update on Friday, report agencies.
Bangladesh gained seven rating points to currently stand with 61 points while Sri Lanka lost eight ratings points and slipped to number nine with 47 points.
Australia women’s retained their top spot, being 39 points clear of second place India.
England also hung on to its third position while South Africa took a 13-point lead over fifth-placed New Zealand and the West Indies and Pakistan remained unchanged on sixth and seventh position.In the Twenty20 rankings, however, Bangladesh was still placed at number nine, with Australia, England and India holding the top three spots.
