BD sees technological revolution

Bangladesh has witnessed a technological revolution as the present government has taken lots of initiatives like establishing technological training centres, technology universities and included technology education in the curriculum in schools and colleges . Industries secretary Md. Abdul Halim said this while inaugurating as the chief guest a conference titled ‘Technological Innovation Management Centric Initiative for Building an Innovation Economy’ that began at Daffodil International University (DIU) on Wednesday.

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU presided over the programme. Speaking at the two-day innovation stakeholder consultative conference, Md. Abdul Halim said, “To be benefited through technological revolution, we have to give emphasis on technological innovation.” He stressed to develop a technology-friendly young generation.

Prof. Dr. M Nawaz Sharif, a world-famous expert on technological innovation and technology transfer presented keynote paper in a conference. Besides, Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, vice chancellor of DIU, Professor Dr. Masum Iqbal, dean, Faculty of Finance and Entrepreneurship, Abu Taher Khan, director, Career Development Centre also spoke at the programme. Career Development Center, Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Skill, Jobs and Bangladesh Venture Capital jointly organised this conference.

Prof. Dr. M Nawaz Sharif said that no technology can sustain forever and no technology company can sustain as market leader for longtime. Leading Technology of twenty years back is now rejected. In the same way, today’s technology will become obsolete in future. So it is time for Bangladesh to take leadership of global technology market.

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said that main purpose of technology is to make our life easy and give more and more benefits. But we won’t be benefited through technology due to our negative mentality. So, we have to be positive minded in using innovative technology. Dr. Khan also said” ‘we will have to be more conscious about the use of latest and innovative technology to ensure economic development by using the technological opportunities.’

More than 50 participants from different organizations attended the conference and discussed in 10 different session. The conference will concluded on tomorrow 13 june 2019.
