Bangladesh Navy annual hockey competition-2023 was held at BN Dockyard sports complex under the overall management of Dockyard.
A total of 8 teams from various ships, bases and organizations of Bangladesh Navy participated in this five-day competition on Thursday. On the final day of the competition, a match between Banouja Isha khan team and Commander Dhaka Naval Region team was held. In the competition, Commander Dhaka Naval Region team defeated Banouja Isakhan team 2-1 and became the champion. M Sohag Ghazi of Banouja Isha khan team leading top was adjudged the best player.
On the concluding day Commodore Superintendent Dockyard Commodore Khandaker Akhter Hossain was present as the chief guest and enjoyed the final game and distributed prizes among the winners.
During this time, he encouraged everyone to increase the reputation of the Navy and Bangladesh by participating in national and international level competitions by making new players.
Local naval officers and a large number of naval personnel attended and enjoyed the game.
It is to be mentioned that the Navy's annual hockey competition is held in the round robin league system as per the rules approved by the International and Bangladesh Hockey Federation approved by the naval sports control board.
