A coounsellor of Bangladesh Mission in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, tested positive for coronavirus, said the foreign ministry said on Saturday.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen prayed for the quick recovery of the Counsellor (Labour) who was performing his duties in Bangladesh Mission there “in a very efficient way”. Dr Momen urged all officials at Bangladesh Missions abroad to work carefully maintain health guidelines strictly.
The Counaellor worked with the Saudi administration at a camp in Madina to convince around 4000 Bangladesh workers to go for coronavirus testing procedures.
Over 200 Bangladesh nationals died from coronavirus in 11 countries including the US and the UK while many are infected with virus. The highest number of Bangladeshi expatriates died in the US and the UK.
