Iqbal U Ahmed, Independent Director of Bangladesh Finance, has been appointed as the new Chairman of Bangladesh Finance.
He officially took over the role from the former Chairman, Manwar Hossain, on Thursday following the board meeting held at the company's head office.
The handover ceremony was attended by the Managing Director & CEO Md. Kyser Hamid, board members, and senior management.
Ahmed, is a well-known figure in the banking and finance industry. He brings with him decades of experience in leadership, risk management, and building strong institutions.
Notably, his contributions to the “Managing Core Risk in Banking” project in 2003 earned him the prestigious Bangladesh Bank Award.
He has also received several other honors, including the Dhaka Post Gold Medal in 2007 and the Mother Teresa Golden Award in 2015, in recognition of his leadership and commitment to ethical values and social responsibility.
