Bangladesh has been on the road to recovering the deficit and damage it had suffered during the pandemic ever since it opened its door and withdrew the lockdown. The people of the country once again busied themselves in creating an atmosphere that resembled development, progress and liberty. Already the country has gained laudable recovery speed in terms of economy with its back to the Covid-19 outbreak and its front facing towards the goal of development and becoming a middle-income country.

In the continuation, as per a report published in this daily, there has been great advance, as pointed out by an official United Nations Observer. Since, this is the case then we can easily surmise that with the economic turnaround there is nothing to be worried about regarding financing of the mega projects that were slowed down during the pandemic. We can even hope for a timely completion.

This can actually be considered a well played hand by

the government to properly navigate the country

through these trying times towards a better future.

The report also showed the observer complimenting the government’s macroeconomic management in countering the epidemic on one hand and also preventing the collapse of the economy on the other. This can actually be considered a well-played hand by the government to properly navigate the country through these trying times towards a better future.

This type of commendable vigilance by the UN observer and pointing out the well-deserved appreciations of the government to the country and the world is also quite praiseworthy in itself. However, there is still much left to be desired for the country to be back on the track in terms of economic development.

Above all, early access to vaccine and continued emphasis on health pandemic management can help sustain this economic recovery. This is an opportunity to undertake further reformation in resource mobilisation, export diversification, employment generation, skills development and social protection as well. When all these factors will be able to come together development will become a reality.
