Director General of Drug Administration Major General Md. Mustafizur Rahman, said the pharmaceuticals industry has been contributing a lot in Bangladesh economy as the country earns huge foreign currencies from this sector side by side generating large employment.
“Here’s a lot of employment opportunity. Pharmacy graduate can also build career in marketing to supply chain management. So, Pharmacy education is gaining popularity day-by-day among the students,” he said urging the students to continue their learning process every day as there is no bound to learn.
He was speaking at the concluding session of the two-day DIU Pharma Career Expo 2019: 10 years Celebration of Pharmacy Department that endedat 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University in Dhaka on Sunday. Department of Pharmacy of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized this 2- day long DIU Pharma Career Expo 2019 from 27-28 April 2019.
Miun Uddin Mazumder, managing director, Sanofi Bangladesh Ltd was present as special guest in the programme. Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahabubul Islam, vice chancellor, Daffodil International University presided over the programme.
The closing ceremony was also addressed by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ismail Mostafa, Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Sharif Mohammad Shahin, Head, Department of Pharmacy of Daffodil International University.
The 2-day long DIU Pharma Career Expo includes seminar, workshop, round table discussion, career talk show, exhibition and project display. A total of 15 pharmaceutical industries are participating in this Career Expo.
A series of seminar titled “Employability 360 in Pharma–Sector”, “Pharma Product Management in Bangladesh” and “Professional employability in Pharma –sector” will be held where industry leaders and Professional Experts will share their experience and provide guide line for the new comers in this sector.
Addressing as the special guest, Md. Muin Uddin Mazumder said that pharmacy career is not limited into home but it outstretched around the world. Lot of Bangladeshi talented guys already successful in pharmacy sector in abroad. Career opportunity is also increasing in pharmacy sector of Bangladesh. He gave example of himself and said, he was entered in pharmacy career as an officer. From then he is now a managing director of a company.
He also said to the students that you have to fix your career at this moment. Here is opportunity to become a researcher to HR manager. So choice is yours. Please make decision and prepare yourself.
