The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam on Friday participated in a cleanliness drive with a social organisation
named ‘BD Clean’ at Gulshan Lake area in the capital. With the slogan ‘Clean as You Go’, the social organisation conducted their first cleanliness programme.
They hoped to expand their cleanliness in other parts of the city gradually. During the campaign, Mayor Atiqul administrated an oath with all the participants, urging them not to throw garbage anywhere. He also urged the city dwellers to keep the city clean by dumping household wastes at fixed places. As part of the cleanliness programme the mayor also cleaned garbage from Gulshan lake as well as some city streets.
