In obervance of the Education Day, leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League offered their floral tribute at Shiskha Odhikar Chattar ( Rights of Education Premises) at the outskirts of the Main Gate of the High Court at 8-00 am on Thursday.
Headed by BCL President and the General Secretary Al-Nahian Khan Joy and Lekahok Bhattacharya respectively, Sanjit Chandra Das and Saddam Hossain, President and the General Secretary respectively of Dhaka University unit if Chhtra League , BCL central leaders, DU university unit leaders, from various halls were present and offered the floral tribute.
It is learnt on this very day of 1962, under the bold leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, several students including Wazi ullah, Golam Mostafa, Babul and Kanchan embraced marttrdom during during their protest programme of proposed Education Contaction Policy by infamous Sharif Commission. In memory of those best children of the nation September 17 is observed as ' Education Day in the country. Students and various organisations observe the day through various programmes.
