Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Jhenaidah district unit leaders started transplantation marking world environment day and the birth centennial of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. They had transplanted 101 saplings at Jhenaidah government Keshab Chandra College campus and other places of the college on Saturday morning.
The programme was carried out as per the advice of the central committee of the students’ front. Each and every leader and activists were advised to transplant at least three plants this year.
BCL Jhenaidah district unit president Rana Hamid inaugurated the tree plantation where college unit president Rezwanul Haque Ripon, general secretary Abu Suman Biswas, Degree college unit president Farooque Hossain, poura unit president Khairul Islam Titon among others had participated in the programme.
BCL Jhenaidah district unit president Rana Hamid during the tree plantation inauguration programme said the central committee had advised the leaders and activists of the BCTL to ensure transplantation of at least three saplings by the side of educational institutions, roads, low or high land, fallow land, river bank and other places so that the country might turn to a greener one within a few days. It will help resist the adverse reaction of the disfavourable climate and ensure oxygen for us as desired by the Father of the nation Banagabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
