BCG signs agreement for 2 HPB

An agreement was signed between Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) Dockyard and Engineering Works Limited, Narayanganj on Sunday morning for the construction and supply of two Harbour Patrol Boats (HPB) under the revenue budget for the financial year 2021-2022. The information was announced through a press release issued by BCG on the same day.

Rear Admiral M Ashraful Haque, Director General of Bangladesh Coast Guard was present as the chief guest at the signing ceremony while, Commodore SM Moniruzzaman, Managing Director of Dockyard and Engineering Works Limited was present as the special guest.

Directors of Bangladesh Coast Guard Headquarters and other representatives of Dockyard and Engineering Works Limited were also present during the signing ceremony. 

Notably, on August 1 in 2018, 2 Insor Patrol Vessels (IPV) BCGS Bhobuj Bangla and BCGS Shyamal Bangla, and 2 Fast Patrol Boat (FSB) BCGS Sonadia and BCGS Kutubdia, built under the supervision of Dockyard and Engineering Works Ltd, Narayanganj were handed over to Bangladesh Coast Guard.

In addition, 2 more Insor Patrol Vessels (IPV) BCGS Joy Bangla and BCGS Apurba Bangla along with 6 high speed boats (large) are undergoing the process of hand over following their construction. 

With the dedicated support of Dockyard and Engineering Works Ltd. Narayanganj, the capacity and scope of work of Bangladesh Coast Guard will be gradually increased and the activities between the two organizations are expected to be further strengthened, stated the press release.
