BCG seizes jelly filled shrimps in Chandpur

Bangladesh Coast Guard Dhaka Zone has seized 1400 kilograms of Shrimps filled with jelly at Harina Ferry Terminal area. A team of BCG Station Chandpur on Sunday midnight seized these shrimps during a drive. 

Bangladesh Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Amirul Haque on Monday noon stated that via a press release.

Lt Commander Amirul said that, acting on a tip-off, a team of Bangladeash Coast Guard Chandpur Station raided Harina Ferry Terminal area to seized a consignment of jelly filled shrimps. BCG Chandpur Station Commander Lieutenant M Sadik Hossain led a team in the area. Smugglers after sensing the presence of law enforcement agency fled the area leaving the shrimp consignment.

Later, the team rescued 1400 kilograms of shrimps filled with poisonous jelly substance. Chandpur Fisheries Extension Offices Md Ashikur Rahman was present during the drive. Later, the shrimps were buried at ground at the presence of Chandpur upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Sudeep Bhattacharia. 

Lt Commander Amirul Haque said that such drives will be continued to curb down the crime rate in the area.
