Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) in Chandpur conducted a special operation based on secret information at Induria village near Meghna river under Matlab police station of Chandpur district on Sunday morning, stated a press release issued by BCG.
During the operation, 20 lakh meters of current nets were seized. The market value of which is about Tk 7 crore.
However, no one was arrested at the time. The seized current nets were later set on fire in the presence of the Fisheries Officer.
BCG will continue this kind of operation in the coastal area to maintain law and order in future as well.
