Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) has seized a huge consignment of foreign liquor from Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar. A team of Bangladesh Coast Guard Baharchhara Outpost on Saturday midnight seized 800 bottles of foreign beer from Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Old Road.
Media Officer of Bangladesh Coast Guard Lieutenant Commander Amirul Haque during a press briefing on Sunday informed about the operation. He said that upon receiving information, BCG Baharchhara Outpost Contingent Commander M Kamal Hossain led a team to conduct a drive in the area.
During the drive, BCG team tried to stop a suspicious pickup truck. During the chase, the truck driver fled the scene leaving the pickup truck. After a thorough search,
800 bottles of Andaman Gold Beer were seized.
BCG team later handed over the liquor and the truck to Teknaf Model Police Station. Lt. Commander Amirul Haqque said that such drives will be continued to curb down the crime rate in the area.
