BCG recovers weapons from Barguna

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) of Station Patharghata recovered domestic weapons and equipment for making weapons, in a raid at char area under Patharghata police station, in the wee hour of Wednesday, says a press release issued by BCG. 

On the basis of secret information, a special operation was conducted by BCG station Patharghata under Bangladesh Coast Guard South Zone at around 2:00 am in Barguna district. 

Five single-barrelled guns, two fresh ammunition, one machete and weapons making equipment were recovered from an abandoned house in the middle of the char area adjacent to Sundarbans.

It is learned that some arms makers were preparing various types of weapons in the house and selling them to pirates.

The seized single-barrelled gun, fresh ammunition and machete were handed over to Patharghata police station for legal action.
